    Customer Reviews:
    Great case
This case is very slim, but it lets me keep all the extra storage and my camera together.

It has a handy belt clip for convenience.

    Not what I ordered !
I ordered a red nylon camera case to go with the camera I bought as a graduation gift. The case that was shipped to me was bright orange !! not even close to being called a red. I was disappointed but didn’t have time to return the case for another one before graduation.

    Great Case
It survived vegas with an additional memory card and battery in the case pouch.

    a little disappointing
I was disappointed by the cheap quality of this product. One of the velcro straps was already coming apart at the seams when I opened it, and it just appears to be made cheaply (the zipper and caribener, for instance). The camera fits nicely in there, and it does the trick, I just would rather have been able to compare it firsthand with other products before making the purchase. If I had done so, I would have chosen something at Target or BestBuy over this product.

    Fairly tough camera case
Executive Summary: Good, sturdy camera case to protect camera from falls when camera is inside the case.

    Details:

I bought this for the camera we use at work. Since we are taking kids on tours and holding events, we wanted something sturdy. This works.

There is a pocket on the inside to hold a battery and another card. The camera is strapped in by a velcro strap. The case isn’t that big, but it’s bigger than the leather cases I have seen. The material is medium hard, kind of like a harder than a stiff neoprene computer sleeve, but not as hard as metal. If you threw it in a backpack, it would be fine.

The little carabiner seems useful too.

The Closer - The Complete First Season
    starring Kyra Sedgwick

    Customer Reviews:
    Fake Accent
I can’t get past the terrible accent of Kyra. Difficult to give the main character credibility when you can’t believe she is who she pretends to be. Overacts, almost a comedic farce.

The dialog is well written, Just poor casting.

    Justice is a blonde
If you don’t have season 1, you can still get it in a boxed set with season 2.

In Season 1, Brenda Leigh Johnson is brought in from Atlanta to be the new Deputy Chief of Priority Homicide of the Los Angeles Police Department. Unfortunately, the guy who hired her, Chief Pope, is her former lover and brings her to LA against the wishes of the entire LA Police Department. So, it’s no big surprise that her squad, along with Robbery Homicide’s Captain Taylor, cause her nothing but trouble. Still, she shows her stuff. She was trained by the CIA in interrogation and gaining confessions, and she’s really good at it. Definitely smarter than the average bear. Justice is a blonde.

    Season 1

1-Pilot (the grisly murder and defacing of a woman involves a reclusive security software engineer and his secretary who discovers that he is actually a woman pretending to be a man; Brenda’s FBI friend Fritz Howard shows up to help; probably the most manipulative confession of the season)

2-About Face (the wife of an adulterous movie star drops dead in the shower after using toxic hair conditioner)

3-The Big Picture (a hooker’s death uncovers a corrupt INS official, the illegitimate son of a Russian mobster who gets his women pregnant and kills them, and a house and cat for Brenda; one of the best confessions of the season from a really cocky SOB)

4-Show Yourself (a triple homicide of gang members reveals a sniper, the son of a military colonel, who is settling some scores; awful episode–worst of the season)

5-Flashpoint (the death of a professor reveals a university pedophile and a drug trial that’s killing kids)

6-Fantasy Date (a young coed and daughter of a Congresswoman is killed as a result of an ad her ex puts on joneslist for kinky sex to teach her a lesson; Brenda is attacked in this one; one of my all-time favorites–the confession is very cleverly obtained)

7-You Are Here (an autistic teenager holds the key to why and how his father, a judge, was killed)

8-Batter Up (the bloody beating of a gay man exposes his duo life, one with his marriage partner and another with a photographer)

9-Good Housekeeping (the brutal rape and murder of the 14 year-old daughter of a live-in maid ends with a twist when the teen murderer’s rich parents hide him out in Mexico, the native country of his victim; this is my all-time favorite episode with a wonderful confession in a Mexican jail)

10-The Butler Did It (the death of a butler that was supposed to testify against the wealthy Duttons exposes an unscrupulous, and incredibly stupid, lawyer; Dennis Dutton shows up again in a later episode)

11-L.A. Woman (the death of a prominent Iranian businessman reveals a son who funnels money to terrorists and a wife with a secret life that includes her daughter’s doctor; humorous parts with Provenza faking an injury at the hands of the FBI)

12-Fatal Retraction (confusion with a misidentified dead body results in the release of a dangerous serial killer who sets his victims on fire, and they all look just like Brenda)

13-Standards and Practices (a wife-beating Hollywood producer is killed in his Jacuzzi and his ex-wife’s family are prime suspects; this one has a funny opener with Provenza mimicking Brenda at the crime scene; Captain Taylor orchestrates an inquiry into Brenda’s behavior and her entire squad threatens to quit if the charges aren’t dismissed)

There are about 5 minutes (or less) of unaired clips on discs 1, 3, and 4. No special features on disc 2.

    Horrible 1st episode
I only watched the first episode and barely made it through. I’ve never seen a more obvious plot in my life. Not only is the plot week, but the acting is poor, especially the supporting cast. Since this show gets so much good buzz, maybe it gets better as the season progresses, but then again, 2 and Half Men gets good reviews and it is mindless drivel.

    The Closer season one
This is a great show. The mix of Drama with a light comedy is just right. The one liners are great.

    My birthday present to me
I fell in love with the The Closer on first season. Kyra Sedgwick beats Meryl Streep hands down on conveying changing emotions. And the crew they assembled for this show are just perfect. The story plots grab you and keep you. Is like finding that really good book you can’t put down.

I want 3rd Season to come out soonest.

    beautiful glossy pages of advertising
Stuffed full of adds, this mag occasionally has some helpful articles and reviews, but I doubt there are any that couldn’t be found for free on the net.

Great magazine, but needs to lose the attitude
I’ve been reading Mac Live for years since they were Mac Addict and continue to enjoy the detailed and applicable reviews. They have shed much of their smarmy attitude, but some remains.

If you are looking for honest, unbiased product reviews and great tips for your macintosh, this is an outstaning magazine.

Long wait, no CD. Waste of time and money.
Waited five months before I got my first issue. I should have canceled it but I honestly forgot about it for a while.

Then I realized this Amazon subscription does not come with a CD!

That is the whole point of me ordering MacLife - to get the CD with all the extra goodies.

Thank you Amazon and Future Inc. You really know how to treat us great.

Never got a single issue of my subscription
I did not use Amazon to subscribe to MacLife, as far as I can remember there was an offer on Version Tracker in February 2007. Nevertheless, I have not seen a single issue of the publication. I contacted their customer service a couple of times and finally asked for a refund but did not receive it either.

    Subscribe at your own peril.

    Not enough about Mac’s!!

    Or tips & techniques..

    I am very disappointed…

    Too Little and Very Late
I was very disappointed with my first issue of “The Strand.” Very few stories, a couple of interviews and the rest was book reviews. For the price of the magazine and the fact that is a quarterly, it is a very sparse magazine. Although beautiful to look at and easy to read, there just isn’t enough substance between the front and back covers.

My biggest disappointment was not with the magazine itself, but with the customer service at Magazine Express. I placed my order for the magazine in November, and knowing it was published quarterly, I didn’t expect my first issue until well after the first of the year. However, when I had not received it my March, I began to wonder. I contacted customer service via email (took two times to get a response) and then I was told that I would begin receiving my magazine in November of 2008 and my subscription would run through February 2008. (HUH??)

I replied to that email asking for clarification on the timing and expressing my displeasure at having to wait for a year for my subscription to start. I never received a response to that.

So, with my first issue having arrived,(in April 2008) I feel a great let down after reading it. I don’t quite feel a great anticipation toward receiving my second issue–whenever that might be

    Wandering Down “The Strand” (Magazine)
Ever since I first encountered Nancy Drew (back in the Cretaceous Period), I have been a mystery fan. This elegant magazine keeps me stoked — with excellent reviews of new and interesting things, fine articles and interviews, and fun stories that range from the hard boiled to the cozy, all in inimitable British style. A subscription makes a great gift for any mystery addict. The Best British Mysteries 2005 (Best British Mysteries) The Strand

The magazine of Conan Doyle is back again.
The original Strand magazine was published from the 1890’s until 1950. Bringing the stories of Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, and G. K. Chesterton to a wide readership, it also printed a serialized “Hound of the Baskervilles.” Now it’s back with short stories, articles and interviews with the most exciting contemporary (primarily but not exclusively British) mystery writers.Death of an Obnoxious Tourist (Five Star Mystery Series)

An attractively-presented, very reasonably priced magazine with high-quality fiction offerings
As someone who enjoys mysteries–including many of those broadcast on satellite radio–I looked forward to receiving my first copy of The Strand (the 72-page, February-June 2007 issue (Issue XXI)). The Table of Contents of this attractive issue lists five fiction works, two interviews and three “Articles” (one of the “Articles” consisting of reviews of books and audiobooks). (In addition, in this 72-page issue, my count of pages on which the entire page consists of an announcement or presentation (my terms), e.g., by a publishing or other concern of a book or books, a dvd or dvds or audiobook or audiobooks, came to approximately 25; my count of other pages on which some portion of the page includes, e.g., an announcement or presentation similar to one of the above or of a publication or one that’s directed by a publishing concern to authors seeking submissions, came to approximately 15.) I found the fiction works in Issue XXI to be of high quality and announcements or presentations etc., relating to books, dvds, publications, etc., are fine and will certainly be of interest to many readers, especially those interested in newly-issued works. However, I find myself interested in seeing more fiction works in issues published more frequently even if the subscription price would be substantially greater.

    The Strand Magazine
I thoroughly enjoy this magazine. I am not only an avid reader of all types of fiction, but especially mysteries. This magazine allows me to see what the newest books are/will be available, plus gives me an idea of what they are about. Keep up the excellent work.
