Brilliant Display 
Wanted a 14 incher with the best looking display. This one has LED backlighting like the outrageosly overly priced Apples & a few Sonys, and I’m quite happy with the brightness and resolution on this screen. Yes, you will need to find the right viewing angle, and that said, this display seems hands above many others I looked at in stores. I took a leap buying such an expensive item sight unseen (it just aint in the stores, at least when I got mine), but I’m quite happy with it after about a month, despite having to adapt to WinVista and the constant nagging reminders of potentially dangerous operations that I did seemlessly in WinXP. Love the looks and thinness of this laptop and feel of the keyboard, and it’s been great on the WiFis on a recent trip across the US & Canada. On a whim, I picked up a Tucano soft sleeve for it, and was glad I did, as it fits this Samsung perfectly, allowing one to put it into a discrete carry-on bag that doesn’t scream LAPTOP OVER HERE!
Great laptop.. removed Vista and put XP on
After reading all the reviews from other users and doing some research online, I decided to buy the X460. The other laptops I was considering was the Lenovo Thinkpad T-61. I am glad I went with the Samsung. The weight is much lighter. The screen is super bright. Performance is unsurpassed. With the rebate I ended up paying around $900. I like how they put USB ports on all three different sides of the laptop. I took Vista off and put XP back on. One note.. If you do put XP on your machine and you want to use the backup restore image.. make sure you partition your hard drive for the recovery image. All the drivers for XP seemed to be on the website. The only thing I still cannot find is the bluetooth software. I have the driver installed but still cannot locate the bluetooth software to actually connect bluetooth devices. I dont use bluetooth that much so this didnt bother me too much. I am still glad I went with this laptop. Extremely happy with it.

Misc:
I know that this is a review on the Laptop and not on Amazon, but I have to get a word in. I received the laptop in packaged box that was in decent condition, so I did not refuse shipment. When I opened the box, I quickly saw that I received a previously opened laptop. The seal on top was not broken of course, but the bottom was ripped apart, and then put back together. It was obvious that someone pulled the laptop out from the bottom, and had put it back in. Obviously, not happy!!!
Overall:
This is a good laptop, for a great price! I did extensive research before purchasing this product, and I highly recommend it!
Just bought two for my sister and I
Here are some facts:
1. Samsung is currently the biggest electronics manufacturer in the world.
2. Samsung has been selling laptops all over the world for years except in the US
3. Details: keyboard is Nano-silver coated thus resists bacterial growth for 10 years.
Edges around the screen and the laptop is made from Magnesium, for lightness and strength.
They spent great length to reduce noise and temperature.
I’ve went through original Thinkpad, Dell, HP, Toshibas, Fujitsu, and Gateway. This Samsung is by far the best built system.
Great Machine
This really is a great machine and I would highly recommend Samsung machines to anyone. I looked long and heard for a light weight machine that I could use for business, but that had a big enough screen for running presentations to clients on. It is also good looking and fresh.
I find it plenty fast. I’ve had Dell’s for business machines for sometime and the quality here is super. I also have a Macbook Pro for a home machine. Again, the quality, speed, design, is great.
I’m not crazy about the glossy screen. Definitely a bit of a glare. Also, the entire loptop is glossy — much like their flat screen TV’s. This bring finger prints. They do provide a nice micro fiber cloth which I keep on hand. I do wipe it down each day. Not that big of a deal, but it seemed annoying at first.
One thing I was suprised about was that the Letter “A” in the word “Samsung” fell off from the front of the machine. So, now my machine says “S msung”.
